Hey!
Tonight many movies gonna go on TV and there is one that I´m going to watch that´s called "Lady in the water", it´s supposed to be a fantasy movie and I´m excited, it has been a while since I saw a fantasy movie. Hope it´s a good one, well you´ll know later.

The Phantom of the Opera (2004)
The Phantom of the Opera is a sad story about a man in hiding from the cruel world because of his deformed face. He lives in the sewers under the Opera Populaire, but know everything that is going on in the opera. On day, while rehearing the star of the play Carlotta almost gets killed, by the Phantoms hand, and leaves the opera in fury. And whom if not the Phantoms beautiful and talented song student Christine gets the leading roll in the play. After the play Christine meets her child love Viscount Raoul De Chagny, without knowing about her tutors love for her she falls in love with Raoul. And the Phantom filled with jealousy of seeing his love in the arms of another man, kidnaps Christine and Raoul have to fight hard to get her back.
It´s a lovely but sad story, with beautiful costumes and songs. I haven´t seen the real musical but I would love to some day, I wouldn´t be suprized if it´s better than the movie. But I have to say I was very suprized when I got to know that Gerard Butler never took a singing class before doing the movie, impressive!

Gladiator (2000)
Gladiator is about the powerful general Maximus, who is loved by the people and the Emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Just before the Emperors death he chooses Maximus as his heir over his own son, Commodus. In rage Commodus murders his own fader to take his place. He sends a army with orders to kill Maximus and his family. Maximus´ family dies and Maximus gets captured and thrown in to the Gladiator games until his death. The only thing he keeps fighting for is the thought of meeting Commodus again and get his revenge.
This is one of my favorite movies, not only because Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott are a part of the production team, but also because it´s a beautiful story and it´s very well made! There isn´t much I can say about this movie except, if you haven´t seen it then you should!

Surf´s Up (2007)
In Surf´s Up we get to follow a film crew who´s working on a documentary about the famous surfer Big Z, who been died a few years. And to get so mush facts as possible they turn to Big Z´s biggest fan Cody Maverick. Cody is a surfer too and dreams about winning the Big Z Memorial Surf Off cup and become as good as Big Z ones was. He leaves his home Shiverpool and enters the cup, on Pen Gu Island, to compete against all the best surfers like the ninth cup winner Tank Evens.
Everything is well when Cody arrives to the island but soon he gets in to a fight with Tank and they decide to solve it with a surf off. Cody loses badly because he don´t know how to surf on the big waves and if he don´t find someone willing to train a loser his dream will be lost.
I really like this movie because it´s different from other animated movies: The people behind the camera talks with the characters in the movie and the characters reacts on the film crews presence and looks and waves at the camera, sometime you see the film crews equipment and the camera shakes when they run and so on. It´s a totally new way of making a children’s movie and I like it!
This movie is cute, funny and different. I think that you definitely should see this one!

The Strangers (2008)
The Strangers, which is inspired by real events, is about Kristen McKay (Liv Tyler) and James Hoyt (Scott Speedman) who´s going to spend thier summer vacation at the country house which is far from the civilization. The same night they arrive there are someone knocking on thier door. When anwsering it three strangers, hidden behind masks, breaks in to the house and the couple have to fight with all thier might to surive.
I usually don´t find thriller or horror movies exciting because I´m very good at knowing what´s next to come but this film were different. The only reason I can think of why it caught my intrerst is because, as I mentioned before, it´s based on real events which made it so mush more interesting.
I like knowing how people think and why they act in a specific way. And I just couldn´t find the reason to why those three weirdos would do something like that too two innocent people.
As for the actors... I was impressed with Liv Tyler. I only knew her from the Lord of the Rings movies and from a few drama/comedy movies as well but I had never seen her in a thriller/horror movie. And I thought she did a very good job!
I can´t say much about Scott Speedman becasue I´ve only seen him in Underworld but what I can say is that I thought that he too did a good job.
Should you see it? Yes I think you should. The movie shows you how sick people really can be.
