Thursday

That´s it for this year!

Okey, that is it for the Ben Stiller marathon. But as I mentioned in the begining of the marathon, I am going to write about Meet the Family, Meet the Fockers and Little Fockers, when I have seen the third movie after it has been released here.
So that´s it for this year, I wont writing about more movies so you have to wait till next year haha. Hard I know, what is it, like 36 hours left? Anyway, I wish you all a great New Years Eve, with that said:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Tropic Thunder (2008)

During a war movie shooting in a jungle of Asia, a series of strange things starts happening. This soon force the actors from the war movie to become the soldiers they are playing so they can stay alive long enough for the helicopter to come and transfer them to a safe place.

This movie has a bunch of good, funny actors like Robert Downey Junior, Jack Black and Ben Stiller who also is the director of this movie. Í think this movie has its funny moments, here there. It is not one of those movies when you come out from the cinema and you go: "Wow, that was AWSOME! I need to see it again!" You maybe watch it once or twice and that is enough. It gets 3/5!

Wednesday

Madagascar (2005)

When the four spoiled animals, Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Gloria the hippo and Melman the giraffe from the Central Park Zoo, get on the island Madagascar after a shipwrek they soon discover the true life of the jungle. While struggling to survive now when their food no longer is served on a silver plate, they are trying to find their way home which is not easy when you are stuck in a jungle.

A exiting and entertaining movie, with some groovy moves and music, "I like to move it, move it..." haha. I really like the movie and the actors, Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer and the lovely Jada Pinkett Smith, who´s husband I adore. Okey, back to the movie. Well as I said, it´s a exiting and entertaining movie and I´ll give it a 4/5!

Tuesday

The Heartbreak Kid (2007)

Eddie, a 40 year old single, suddenly one day bumps in to the very hot girl Lila, who is everything he wants a woman to be. They marry after just sex weeks of dateing and everything seems to be perfect. But on their honeymoon in Mexico, Eddie soon discovers that his perfect wife really is a living nightmare!

A romanic comedy made by the Farrelly brothers, who also made "There´s Something About That Mary". The movie is fun, crazy and different, wouldn´t say it is so romantic really but it is good anyway. One of the better movies Ben Stiller is in and it is really worth seeing. It gets a 4/5!

Monday

Zoolander (2001)

The Prime Minister of Malaysia is planing to stop the use of child workers and raise the salaries to the workers in his country as well. This will badly affect the fashion industry when everything becomes more expensive and therefor the most successful fashion designers decides to assassin the Prime Minister. Mugatu, one of the designers, get the assignment to find a extremly stupied model who can "get trained" so he later can kill the Minister, and he choses the three times winner of the Model of the Year award Derek Zoolander.

A movie with some pretty good actors like Owen Wilson, Jon Voight, Will Ferrell, and Ben Stiller of course. Though there are many good actors in the movie, doesn´t it mean the movie is good which it isn´t. Ben might be a pretty good actor but he is not the best director. This movie had a low sence of humor that I do not find specially funny and it feels like they maybe had a low budget as well due to the bad quality. It only gets a 2/5!

Sunday

Great Timing

This Christmas I got a rather fun present:
"BEN STILLER - The Seriously Funny Collection. Seriously!
I have been thinking about what I should start writing about now after Christmas. If I should try to find good movies you could watch before New Years Eve. Then I remembered that people party on New Years Eve, who watches movies then? An other thought I had was if I should wait till next year and then start with a new marathon of some sort. It is only week till 2011 but, many people here in Sweden has holiday now. Which means you get together with the family, get cosy in front of the TV to watch movies. So I didn´t want to wait a whole week before I could write because then the hoilday is over, but then I got this present. I guess you understand where I am going with this, I am going to have a short Ben Stiller marathon now, before New Years Eve.

The collection include five movies: Meet The Parents, Meet The Fockers, The Heartbreak Kid, Zoolander and Tropic Thunder. I am going to save Meet The Parents and Meet The Fockers for later because I what to write about them at the same time as the third, Little Fockers. Sweden actually has the last release date of the movie in Europe, 14 January 2011. I know it is already out in most countries, Sweden is just slow sometimes when it comes to movies, sadly. Anyway, I am going to wrtie about the other three movies from the collection and I might come up with an other movie surprize too, we´ll see

Saturday

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

The Christmas is over here in Sweden and it has been wonderful, with wonderful food, company, presents and movies of course. Though the Christmas is over here I now it isn´t in the states so MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I hope you all have, or had, a fantastic Christmas and you´ll hear from me soon again.

Wednesday

Bad Santa (2003)

Wille is a rent Santa who doesn´t giva a shit about Christmas. All he care about is: 1) Rod the money from the stores. 2) Nail every sales girl working in the stores. 3) And last, scare the crap out of the children.

A great and funny movie "showing" the (never seen before) bad, nauty side of Santa which is hilarious! The actors are well known and good and I think the kid, Brett Kelly was really good for being so young. The movie as a whole gets a 4/5! A movie you should see at Christmas but maybe not with your kids though haha.

Tuesday

A Christmas Carol (2009)

The classic Christmas story written by Charles Dickens, about the bitter Mr. Scrooge when he is haunted by the Christmas ghosts of the past, prestent and yet to come, so he will learn about the true Christmas spirit.

An other remake of the wonderful story from Charles Dickens and it is truly wonderful! Animation can hardly get any better than this. It feels real, it really catches the Christmas spirit and it is very well made. I just sat back and enjoyed every minut of it. Jim Carrey, who I normaly have a hard time with, did a great job and so did Robert Zemeckis, the director. It shows that he has done this before and he does it well. This is a terrific Christmas movie and it gets a 4/5!

Sunday

"17 signs that you are about to see a really bad movie"

Okey, I know I´m supposed to write about Christmas movies but I just could not restrain myself after I had read this article "17 signs that you are about to see a really bad movie". I will do a short summery of the points that I think is not right and those who are right. Here´s the list and as I said, I do not agree to all of this, I will explain later what I think when the list is done!:

1. It´s a "dream project"

Meening, movies with a popstar in it who has the leading role are bad because they are only made to make the popstar look good.
2. "From the creators of Scary movie"
5. Gerard Butler as a american
He can not speak with an american accent and still they what him to play american.
10. It is a Santa movie without Billy Bob Thornton (from Bad Santa)
Movies about Santa without Billy Bob Thornton is not worth seeing, e.g. Santa Clause with Tim Allen.
14. The continuation you never heard about before
15. Adam Sandler writing the script and playing the leading role
17. When the mike is visible in the view

Okey these where the ones I reacted on when I read them. I´m going to say what I think about it so lets start from the top.
1. I think there are some truth in it, most movies with popstars is not good. But there are some exceptions e.g. The Bodyguard (1992) with Whitney Houston.
2. Hahaha. Yes I agree, though I do like some of the Scary movies. But what I do not understand is how is it possible to do a worse job now then bad in the days.
5. Sure, Gerard Butlers´ american accent might not be the best but he is still a good actor. And I think it is unfair to blame him for the parts he is given.
10. Yes, Bad Santa is a great movie! And I can agree to a certain amount that the Christmas movies Tim Allen has been in is not the best but I think the first Santa Clause was good. The ones after on the other hand wasn´t the best. Still it wasn´t Tim who wrote the script so you can´t blame him.
14. When I read this one I did not quite understand what they meant. But know I do. Did you know there is a Titanic 2? I didn´t either till today. Hahaha. I am going to look it up and then I´ll tell you if I agree with this or not.
15. Adam Sandler has done some bad movies and he as written some bad to. But come on, Grown Ups was a great movie! The reporter compaired Grown Ups with You Don't Mess with the Zohan, which really is a baaad movie, but honsetly COME ON!! No sense of humor!
17. Okey, sure I agree. If the mike shows up in a scen it is a bad movie but aren´t you all ready watching it when you find that out? How can you know there is going to be a mike showing up in the movie just looking at the cover?

Christmas with the Kranks (2004)

When Luther and Nora Kranks´ daughter Blair goes to Peru with the Peace Corps over the Christmas holidays, Luther comes up with the suggestion to skip Christmas and go on a cruse in the Caribbean instead. After doing some thinking Nora agrees to the idea and they both decide not to put up any lights or buy a Christmas tree, not to send out any Christmas cards, no Christmas food and no Frosty the Snowman on the roof. Simply a Christmas without Christmas.

An other Christmas movie with Tim Allen and it is decent, it had its funny moments here and there. One thing that I could not stop thinking about while watching this movie was how typical American it was, with the whole neightborhood society, geting into everyone else business and going after traditions. Very, very typical American. I think because of that the movie is not as fun here in Sweden as I think it possibly is in America. So the movie gets a 2/5!

Saturday

Deck the Halls (2006)

Steve and his family live in a quiet little town, in a calm little neighborhood. Steve has worked out a perfect plan so everything will be ready when Christmas Eve comes but everything changes when the new neighbors move in across the street. Buddy, the new neightbor, wants to do something spectacular which no one never will forget and comes up with the idea to cower his whole house with Christmas lights so it can be seen for space. This annoys the crap out of Steve and soon the war has begun.

When you read what this move is about it sounds pretty interesting, the actors are well known and the director, John Whitesell, has done many funny TV-series and one funny movie as well, (Big Momma´s house 2) so you would think this movie has to be really good right? Sadly isn´t that true. I did not laugh one time thourgh the whole movie and since it´s supposed to be a comedy that is not a good thing! It gets a 2/5! I would have giving it a 1 but the actor prefromances were good, I liked the lights and I kind of feel bad for the guys who had to fix all those light, gosh what a job!

Friday

Christmas countdown

Now it is only seven days till Chrismas, eight days if you´re from the USA, and yes I know it is crazy how fast time fly by. Rigth after Christmas it is going to be New Year´s Eve and then we start on a new year again, 2011. Anyway, with Christmas you do not only get good food, presents, Christmas songs, joy, you also get alot of Christmas movies on TV, so of course I am going to grade some of them. And I thought since it is only seven days till Christmas Eve I am going to write about at least one movie every day till then, starting today!

I just have to mention something I think is a little funny. Here, in Sweden, it has become almost like a tradition to watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy on TV the days just before Christmas Eve. I have no idea why and I am not complaining, it is just what has the Lord of the Rings to do with Christmas? You can not get any futher from it. Or maybe I have missed something, I thought Christmas was about joy and thankfulness not war. Am I wrong?

Fred Claus (2007)

This is the story about Fred Claus, Santa Claus´s brother. After growing up in Santa´s shadow Fred as become bitter and has lost his belief in the Christmas spirit. But Fred is in need of money and therefore decides to fly to the North Pole to beg his brother for help. While there Fred descovers that his brother has his problems of his own and are at risk to be shutdown for good.

I think this Christmas comedy is okey, you get a few laughs, there are good actors in it and its a different Christmas story you have not heard before. It is one of those movies when people ask you what you thought of it you answer: "It was okey, not great but not bad either." There just is not so much to say about it so it gets a 3/5!

Océans (2009)

Oceans is a documentary, made by DisneyNature, about the world under the water and the living beings who lives there.

They did not talk much during the movie. The majority of the film consisted of just scens where you got to see the usual behavior of the creatures which I enjoyed because of the beautiful way it was filmed. But when they did say something they brought up interesting and important facts which gave a great message and it was told in a way so even children could understand.
Despite the amazing scens and the great message, I thought that I had already seen alot of the things they showed in the movie. For example, I have seen dolphins jumping and doing tricks in the air and I have seen a shark catching a bird in the air. All these things have been shown on Animal Planet, it is not new. Therefore I´ll give this movie a +3/5!

Wednesday

The End Begins

Now then...The Harry Potter premiere is soon to be over here in Sweden and the blog marathon is over for know. We just have to wait an other eight months till The Final End (part 2) has its premiere in the summer of 2011. I don´t think I ever been so excitet over seeing a film like I am right now. I want to see who they have made the ending so badly now that I have seen the first part. Well I guess I just have to wait like everyone else, sadly.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 (2010)

The battle has begun! Voldermort and his Deatheaters has taken over the whole world of magic and are looking for Harry to kill him once and for all. Harry, Ron and Hermione are trying to finish what Dumbledore started, find all the remaining Horcruxes and destroy them. But the time is runing out. While searching they uncovers the exisstence of the three most powerful objects in the wizarding world, the Deathly Hallows.

I just saw this movie today, on the premiere. And it was absolutly great! When I first heard they were doing the last book in two part I didn´t understand why but know I do. They use so many details from the book so I understand why they need all that time. The script is great and most of the special effects too. I usally don´t complain about the special effects but I didn´t like who they made the House Elfs, specially Dobby. I think he looked more real in the second movie and that is not good.
But I was impressed with their planing, where to cut the first part from the second and so on. Brilliant I have to say! You could feel while watching, that they are trying to end the whole story with a Bang (if you understand what I mean haha)! It deffinitely gets a 5/5!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)

Now that Voldermort has returned, the magical world is no longer safe, not even Hogwarts. Dumbledore wants to prepare Harry for what´s to come and together they try to find a weak point in Voldermorts defence. Meanwhile, there´s love in the air at Hogwarts and the jealousy soon complicates this even more. But the dangerrs are closing in and risk to change everything forever.

From a darker movie too this brighter one. This movie shows a more humorous side of the story with the love drama. But at the same time it is very serious, specially the parts about the past. I don´t want to give to much away so I wont explain what I mean by that, but you who have seen the movie knows what I mean (hopefully). There´s a lot of variation both from fun to serious, as I said before and therefore I give this a 4/5!

Tuesday

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)

Lord Voldermort has returned and Harry has tried to warn everybody, but the Minestry of Magic denys everything he says. Dolores Umbridge comes to Hogwarts as a teacher in the defeance against the darkarts, but instead of teaching them she forbids the students so use magic. With a little help from Hermione, Harry take matters in his own hands and train a groupe of students in secrets, to prepare them for the war to come.

In this movie you get to see a slightly darker side of Harry and his "battle". I think it is very good because it shows how much Harry as grown and you get a better perspective of how he´s feeling about what has happend, not only about the past year but through all the years. That is why it gets a 4/5!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)

This year Hogwarts is hosting The Triwizard Tournament, a magical competition between three schools: Hagwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. To be able to compete the contestants most be over the age of 17 and get chosen by the Goblet of Fire. On the night of the selection the Goblet, surprisingly, choose Harry as the fourth contestant. Since the magic cannot be undone, Harry is forced to compete and complete the extremely dangerous dasks given too them.

I rather enjoy this movie. It´s nice to see an other scene than the school and it is very fun to see students from other schools too. I don´t really have much to say about this movie, it´s a good movie and I like it. That´s about it and therefore it gets a 4/5!

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)

Harry´s third year at Hogwarts is about to start but as usual everything is not right in the magic world. The convicted muderer, Sirius Black, has done the impossible and escaped from the Azkaban prison for magical creatures, and are now coming after Harry.

There were a few new thinks in this movie. First, the was a new director, Alfonso Cuarón, who I honestly never had heard of before this movie. Second new thing was a new Dumbledore. Sadly, did Richard Harris (also seen in Gladiator) died in cancer after he made the second movie. And Michael Gambon took his place instead. The first time I saw him as Dumbledor I don´t like it much but you get used to it after a while. And though Harris was a wonderful Dumbledore, Gambon is just as good as him.
Now to what I think of the movie. I do not like it at all. It´s not because I´ve read the book. This time I just felt like they were rushing through the whole movie. every thing went so fast and it just was not good. Na...this one only gets a 3/5

And Richard Harris (1930-2002) may you rest in peace!

Monday

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)

Harry has waited for the summer to end just so he can return to his real home, Hogwarts, and escape from his horrible "family" the Dursley´s. Just a few days before the school start Harry gets a visitor, the House Elf Dobby, who comes with a warning. He tells Harry not to return too Hogwards this year because terrible things will happen. But Harry ignored the warnings and do return, only to find there as been a number of attacks at the school and a strange voice haunting him.

This is the second year and the second movie of Harry Potter and I love it! The movie is true to the book and the actors has grown, their prefomances is better. Often is hard to keep the same great level as the first movie but I think they have managed the very well! It get a 5/5!

Saturday

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)

Harry Potter is a young orphan boy who lives with his mean aunt and her family in the English suburb. One day Harry gets a letter from the wizard school Hogwarts, which says that Harry is a wizard and everything changes. Harry enters a whole new world - the world of magic with exciting adventures and extrem danger, where he learn more and more about his tragic past.

I am a huge fan of the books because I have practically grown up with them. I love the first book and also the first movie. I think that the film creators for this movie knew that the movie had to be a really good because it gives the first impression of the magical world and if they had not done it right the following movies might not gotten as populaire as they are today.
I love the first movie becuse it is really ture to the book and it completed my image of the magical world. The cast are great! And Chris Columbus, the director, did a brilliant job with putting the movie together!
It gets a 5/5 as a grade!

Friday

Harry Potter marathon coming up!

So the first part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has its premiere next week. Here in Sweden the premiere is the 17th and thats when I am going to see it, which I really looking forward too! Anyway, I thought it would suit to have a Harry Potter marathon before the premiere. So that is what´s happening this weekend, I am going to write short reviews on all of the Harry Potter movies, starting with nr.4! Haha right...no just kidding. Lets start from the begining, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone review is coming up tomorrow.

Due Date (2010)

About an hour ago I just finished watching Due Date!
It is about Peter, a father-to-be, who gets on a plane too LA where his wife is and going to give birth to their first child. But on the plane he meets Ethan and everything get turned upside down. Ethan gets himself and Peter baned from "the flying list" and with Peters bag, with his wallet inside, on the plane Peter do not know how to be able to go across the coutry to LA. Luckly, Ethan finds Peter and offer him a ride over to LA, which is the begining of some insane/crazy events.

I think this was a great movie! Really funny, crazy and you see how the characters grow through the movie, that is one of the nice things about road movies, and the actors effort were splendid! It is definitely a movie worth seeing, specially if you liked Hangover! It gets a 4/5!

Saturday

Awsome surprise in London - the premiere of Due Date!!!

Hey!
I went over to London for a few days and guess what I happend to bump into....the premiere of Due Date! Sweet rigth!!! Robert Downey Jr., Zach Galifianakis and the diractor Todd Phillips was there, plus alot of fans (of course)! Honestly, I did not know that the premiere was going to be there so it was a happy surprise.
On Sunday it is my turn to see it! I looked for tickets at the bigger cinemas but it is fully booked till Thursday!!! And I can´t wait for that long so I found a smaler, local cinema with tickets. Can´t wait till I get to see it, I am really excited! Hope it is as good as the Hangover, which I believe it is.

Tuesday

Scooby-Doo (2002)

After the Mystery Inc.´s break up, they meet by a coincidence on an island resort where the manager needs help to investigate the strange things that have occured there. People gone missing and then come back acting like zombies and rumors about monsters walking around on the island. Deciding to take a break from the break the Mystery Inc. works together to solve the big mystery.

This was acctually one of the movies I talked earlyer about, that I had picked out, believe it or not. I chose this movie because I thought of the children, they should be able to watch Halloween movies too! And I think this is a good example of that, it is funny, scary on a good level for kids and Scooby Doo is in it! Can it get any better?! Well...yes, there are a few things that could have been better: the special effects, the acting performance and more. But is it things a little kid would think about...no. So this move get a 3/5 as a grade.

The Final Destination (2009)

The Final Destination, the fourth movie in the series, and like always it is about some teenagers and on of them gets a vision of a terrible accident which will kill them all. Luckly the teenagers manage to "cheat" death and survive the accident but know death is coming to kill them one by one...

The Final Destination movies are always fun to watch. They are not so predictable, at least I had hard time figuring out the weird ways everyone dies by. BUT if you have seen the first Final Destination - you have seen them all. The plot is the same in all of the four movies, the only thing that seperates them are different actors and different weird accidents (kills).
After the first time I saw the first Final Destination, I thought it was a great movie so if I would grade that it would have probably gotten a +3/5 in grade. But if I give all four movies a joined grade they get a -2/5.

Monday

A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010)

This is a remake on the classic horro film from 1984, about the serial killer Freddy Krueger, who kills his victims, one by one, in their dreams. Soon one of the victims discover that what is happening in the dreams is happening in real life and starts a investigation to find out the reason why Freddy is doing this, while trying to stay awake.

I did not find this movie specailly scary but I still enjoyed it. The character Freddy Krueger was the high-light of the movie. The he "played" with his victims was really funny, so Jackie Earle Haley - great job!
Sure, the movie had some predictable moments as most horro film have but overall it was a good movie and I would recommend it. It gets +3/5!

HALLOWEEN

Halloween is going up which is the best time to watch horror films! The mood is just perfect!
I always seem to pick the bad ones whenever I what to watch a horror film. But this year I have done some research so hopefuly some of the movies I have picked out wont be too bad.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Jurassic Park (1993)

Yesterday I was out shoping and found the Jurassic Park movies on sale so I took them right away!
I would say the Jurassic Park movies are "dinosaur" classics and I remember I liked them very much when I was a little kid. If you like dinosaurs then you have to see these movies!

The idealist and dreamer John Hammond have built a new theme park on a island with, what everyone thought was impossible, dionsaurs. With new tecnoligy he has managed to re-create most of the dinosaur species. Dr. Alan Grant and his partner Dr. Ellie Sattler, who both are palaeontologists, gets invited too the park to make sure the security is good enough to open the park for civilians. But during a preview tour, the park suffers a major power breakdown which allows the dinosaurs to escape for their cages and run free around on the island.

Jurassic Park is the first in the trilogy and though it´s over ten years old and the special effects is not the best, I think it is still good. There is a lot of action but it still maintain the "real" feeling. And Steven Spielberg, who is a amazing director, did (not suprizing) a great job with this movie! Grade: 3/5!

Sunday

Saturday

Vampires Suck (2010)

Remember I promised to check out Vampires Suck and then tell you if it really sucks or not? Well, I saw it a long time ago but I forgot that I had promised to write about it but here it comes (better late than never...right?).

Vampires Suck is a parody movie of the Twilight saga, the ones who´s released. For you who, somehow, do not know of the Twilight saga, I can give you a short summary of it: It´s about a human teenage girl, named Bella, who movies to a new town where her father lives (her parents are divorced). There she meets Edward, who is a vampire, and they fall in love with each other. There are some complications though: 1. Edward is a vampire and Bella is human = bad match! 2. Other vampires wants to kill Bella and the only solution is to make Bella a vampire, which Edward absolutly will not do. 3. Bella´s best friend Jacob, who is a werewolf, is in love with her as well and Bella, too, has some feelings for him = eternal triangle.
This is what they try to make fun of in Vampires Suck, but sadly, they do it very badly!

I was very disappointed when I saw the movie! The humor level was pathetic and I know that in these kinds of movies the humor level is supposed to be low but come on!!! That was ridiculous! Not worth the money and not worht more than a 1/5 as a grade!

Tuesday

The Last Airbender (2010)

Aang, is the last of the air normads and the Avatar. The Avatar is the only one who can master all four elements: air, water, earth and fire. And he was the only one how could remain the balance in the world with help from the Spirit World. After have been missing a 100 years, Aang returns to the present day and discovers that the Fire Nation has started a war against all the other nations. Aang most now learn the three other elements and fight the Fire Nation before the balance in the world will be lost forever.

The thing with this movie is that it is based on a animated TV-series from Nickelodeon and I have seen this show and I think it is great! So when I heard they where going to make a movie of it I was very excited and my expectations were high. Just a few days before the premier of the movie I talked with my friend, who also seen the TV-show, about it and he told me that he had said that he had seen it and that I should not waste my money on it. I asked if I could get the film from him so I could watch it and see for myself how bad it was which I did. As I mentioned, I have seen the TV-show and I didn´t like the movie because it went so fast and there were so many important things missing. I wont tell you because I don´t want to ruin the movie for you who don´t know what I talk about. I think you might like it if you have not seen the series. But I think it´s bad just because I like the series better so it will only get a 2/5 as a grade from me and I recommend too see the series on TV instead!

This is the poster for the TV-series that is shown at Nickelodeon.

Bad excuse I know...

Hey!!!
It was a loooong time ago sence I last wrote anything here and yes I know it suckes. I have an excuse, it´s a bad one but still it is one... Because it´s my last year in school I have loads of things to do: final exames, homeworks, projects and at the same time I´m supposed to have some sparetime to have fun...haha yeah right... Anyway, I going to start writing again soon, and when I say soon I mean soon, like tomorrow. So do not give up on me just yet! It is on its way back up again and next time I get overwhelmed with school I will give a heads up so you now.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

Snow White it´s a simple story about a beautiful princess haunted by her wicked stepmother, the queen, and the seven dwarfs who saves the little princess and the handsome prince lokking for her.
This is the first full length animated feature from the Disney Studios. It made history after it released in December, 1937, and has been since then a unforgettable movie classic.

I´m going to be mean this time. I know it´s a classic but I think this movie is really boring! The story is boring, the music isn´t so  good, the only thing that´s good in the movie are the dwarfs. I bet it was amazing in it´s own time but it doesn´t measure up to the films of today. In fact there are very few old movies that can be compared with the modern movies. I give Snow White a 2/5!

Treasure Plane (2002)

Jim Hawkins, a rebleous teenager, who to the world and his own mother is seen as a slacker with no future. Even Jim starts to doubt he´ll become something other than busboy untill one day a dying pirate gives him a map to the legendary tresure of Captain Nathaniel Flint.
As his journey into the space begins, Jim gets a mentor, the cook, a cyborg named John Silver. However, thier friendship is put to the test as they get closer and closer to the tresure.

I find this story alright. The thing I like the most with this movie are the futuristic world they (makers) have made. It´s very cool and I could absolutly see myself living in it! Ports shaped like a moon, ships you can fly out into the space with, books with a voice-over and hologram pictures which is played like a movie, who wouldn´d want to live in a world like that?!
I think it´s a movie worth seeing if you´re a Disney fan, I give it a 3/5!

The Lion King (1994)

The Lion King is a story taking place in the heart of Africa where little Simba is born, next in the line of the throne. Scar, his uncle, who was first in line till Simba was born plots with the hyenas to kill the king Mufasa and his little son Simba, so he can take place as the new king. Scar managed to kill Mufasa and made Simba believe it was his fault and Simba flees from the kingdom in shame. After years of living in exile and tying to forget his past, he meets his childhood friend Nala who tells him what Scar has done to the kingdom and begs him to come home and take his rightful place as the king. Now Simba has to choose either to go and face his past and fears and take his place in the "Circle of Life" or keep living in exile.

This was my favorite Disney movie when I was smal and I still love it! I love the story, the beautiful songs - which are as beautiful in english as in swedish and I like that they have put in some of our history in the movie as well. Though I have to say I laughted quite alot the first time I saw it in english and found out James Earl Jones was the voice of Mufasa. I just saw Darth Vader insted of Mufasa and it was hilarious.
Anyway I give this movie a 5/5!!

New month

You know I just write whenever I feel like it and don´t have any plan/structure on which movies I write about so I thought why not have a theme every month. I been thinking about this for a while thats why I haven´t written so much lately. So this month September I´m going to start with a Disney theme!!! For all you Disney loves! I´m not going to write about all of them cause them have made maaaany movies and I want to save some of them for later. But I´ll pick out a few of my favorites and the one who aren´t on my fave list.

The Back-up Plan (2010)

She goes to the doctor find out if the insemination has been successful or not and discovers that she is pregnant. Now she has to tell Stan but how?

This is a cute movie, something you could watch with your girl-/boyfriend. But it´s very alike other romanic comedys, that´s why it onlt gets a 3/5.

Date Night (2010)

It´s about the Fosters, a married couple who wants to spice up thier marrige a little by going on a date to the newest restaurant in NY. There´s only one problem, they don´t have a reservation so they steal one and having a blast till two big guys comes up to thier table and takes them outside. While outside the two guys threaten the Fosters and ask for a memory stick. The Fosters, who have no idea what they are talking about run away from the guys and goes to the police, just to learn that the two bad guys are policemen. They panic but decide to find this memory stick the policmen were talking about and finish it!

I usally don´t like Steve Carell but he was okey in this movie, funny and not too extrem. But sence I have seen movies like this one many times before, therefor I´ll only give this movie a 3/5.

What´s up with all horror films?!

Is it only me or are the horror films getting worse? Movies they say are horror films usally aren´t, for example The Eye (2008) or Long Weekend (2008). Both of these "horror" movies are big jokes! I just for ones wanna see a horror movie that makes me hide behind a pillow!
Anyone have any tip on a movie like that?

Wolfman (2010)

Lawrence Talbot returns home from American to help in the search of his missing brother, just to learn that his mauled body has already been found. Lawrence sets out to find his brother´s killer and discovers something terrible. Someone or something, with incredible strength and insatiable blood lust, has been killing the villagers. A suspicious Scotland Yard inspector comes to the village and finds out the horrible truth.

This most be the worst movie shown in cinemas this year! It´s badly made, from the script to the filming! The special effects from the 80s Star Wars movies are better than the special effects here! It´s just prue shit!
Grade: 0/5

Inception (2010)

Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) can enter people´s dreams, so corporations hire him to steal business secrets from rivals subconscious. Saito, who´s one of those men, wants Cobb to do the opposite: not to take information but plant an idea in a rival´s mind. In return Saito will fix problems with the US goverment so Cobb finaly can return to his children. Cobb takes the almost impossible job, planning three layers of dreams within dreams for the mark. The misson requires his team takning a powerful sedative and if something goes wrong in the dreams, the dreamers may not awake.

This movie have been given great grades and because of that my expertations were very high, though I didn´t know what to expect. I had seen the trailer but it didn´t make any sence to me but it surely caught my interest, I had to see it! Glad I did!
The special effects were sensational, it´s a fantastic story and I adore Christopher Nolan (director/writer), he has done a wonderful job with this movie. Someone wrote that he is the new Hitchcock and I think that just might be true. One thing is for certain, we´ll see much more of him in the future!

I give this movie a 5/5 without a doubt!

Vampires suck...or do they?

Last week I heard that a parody movie, know as Vampires Suck, of the Twilight Saga is comming out soon and I had to check it out. I have read the books and I have seen the movies and to be honest I´m not such a big fan anymore. I think the whole thing is overrated and I can´t wait till all the movies are done so it´s over with.  So when I heard of Vampires Suck I became excited because I love that they´re gonna make fun of Twilight but I hope they have done it well. I don´t usally like this kind of movies, it´s not my type of humor. But I do like the Scary Movies though so I hope this one is going to be more like those instead of Meet the Spartans or Epic Movie for example.

Well I´ll find out soon if it´s worth seeing or not...

A-Team (2010)

A-Team, a militarly groupe, gets sent to prison under the charges of not following direct orders and losing the 100$ bills printing plates, which they stole back from the Iraqis. After 6 months in prison Hannibal Smith (Liam Nesson) escapes with help from Mr.Lynch, from the CIA, just so he and his team can steel back the plates again and give them to Mr.Lynch and so clear their names. But all isn´t as it seems to be and A-Team discovers that the mission they first thought were going to be easy has become much harder.

A-Team is one of the best action movies I have seen! I think that everyone should see this movie! I love the skript, the actors and I´m really impressed with the director Joe Carnahan, who had only directed four movies before this one. Good work! I´m also impressed with Liam Nesson. Despite his age he´s running/jumping around and does a hell of a job! I hope he´ll keep working for a long time in the future!
And the hat off to Sharlto Copley (Captain H.M. Murdock) too for doing his second great movie!

I would be stupied if I gave this movie any other grade than a 5/5!

Hope you´re not too disappointed!
